Kabkab Dates, scientifically classified as Phoenix dactylifera cv. Kabkab belongs to the Palmaceae family. These dates are characterized by their oval, round, and elongated shape. When fully ripe, they exhibit a reddish-dark to nearly black hue and contain a small pit. The fruit has a semi-dry texture, and its thick skin adheres closely to the flesh, distinguishing it as one of the premium date varieties.
Kabkab Dates are classified as soft dates, known for their tender and somewhat chewy texture. This quality makes them a favored choice for snacking and dessert applications. Kabkab Dates are celebrated for their delightful sweetness and rich flavor profile, characterized by sweet caramel notes complemented by subtle hints of honey. Their Rutab stage is particularly delicious, earning them the moniker “honey dates.” Notably, Kabkab dates possess a slightly astringent taste when unripe, in the kharak stage, setting them apart from other date varieties.
Kabkab Dates has gained recognition not only in Iran but also internationally. They are predominantly cultivated in southern Iranian provinces, including Bushehr, Khuzestan, and Fars.
The production process of Sayer Dates is as follows
Washing and completely drying all date pieces by machine
Sorting and grading all date pieces by machine
Double sorting of all date pieces for quality by hand
Pitting (if requested by customer)
Waxing/polishing all date pieces with food-grade oil (if requested by the customer)
Fumigation in an airtight vacuum chamber
Packing in bulk & retail/white labels/private labels
Wrapping plastic around the cartons (shrink wrap)
Loading into 20ft or 40ft dry containers
